The PEX-P64 and PISO-P64U card is the new generation product that ICP DAS provides to meet RoHS compliance requirement. The new PEX-P64 and PISO-P64U card is designed as a drop-in replacement for the PISO-P64, and users can replace the PISO-P64 by the PEX-P64 and PISO-P64U directly without software/driver modification.
The PISO-P64U(-24V) universal PCI card supports 3.3 V/5 V PCI bus while the PEX-P64 (-24V) supports PCI Express bus. These cards provide 64 optically isolated digital input (DI) channels that use either an internal or external power supply that can be selected via a jumper. The internal power is provided by an onboard isolated DC/DC converter that provides 3000 VDC isolation and is used for connecting dry-contact input devices.
These DI channels are arranged into four isolated banks when using four isolated external power supplies. DI channels 0 ~ 15 are allocated to bank A, DI channels 16 ~ 31 are allocated to bank B, DI channels 32 ~ 47 are allocated to bank C, and DI channels 48 ~ 63 are allocated to bank D. The onboard photo couplers provide 3750 Vrms isolation, and act as an interface to field logic signals, eliminate ground-loop problems, and isolate the host computer from damaging voltages. These cards contains has a single DB-37 connector and a single 40-pin male header, each of which contains 32 input channels.
The PEX-P64(-24V) and PISO-P64U(-24V) also adds a Card ID switch on-board. Users can set Card ID and then recognize the board by the ID via software when using two or more PEX-P64 and PIO-P64U cards in one computer.
These cards support various OS versions, such as Linux, DOS, Windows 98/NT/2000 and 32/64-bit Windows 8/7/Vista/XP. DLL and Active X control together with various language sample programs based on Turbo C++, Borland C++, Microsoft C++, Visual C++, Borland Delphi, Borland C++ Builder, Visual Basic, C#.NET, Visual Basic.NET and LabVIEW are provided in order to help users quickly and easily develop their own applications.
