model 4892 is a member of ICS's Mini-Box line of IEEE 488 Bus interfaces
that incorporates many new features such as IEEE 488.2 compatibility and
SCPI commands.The 4892 includes a 256K RAM that buffers up to 252,000 characters.This
large buffer and the 4892's high speed GPIB interface minimizes data transfer
time and free's the computer or bus controller for other tasks while the
4892 transfers data to the other device. |

4896 GPIB Quad
Serial Interface
The 4896 is a four channel IEEE 488 GPIB/HP-IB to serial interface
that adapts up to four serial devices to the GPIB bus. Each serial channel
has been designed for independent, full duplex operation at rates
up to 115.2 K baud. Large 60 K byte buffers are assigned to each channel
to buffer the data. High speed DMA transfers move the data between the buffers
and the GPIB interface at rates >600 Kbytes per second. This high data
transfer rate coupled with large buffers in each channel, minimizes GPIB
transfers and frees the bus controller for other tasks. Typical applications
are adding serial channels to workstations, driving a mix of serial devices
and modems from a GPIB bus and/or buffering data from remote devices. |
 |
| |
Features:
- Provides four RS-232 (single-ended and
RS-422/RS-485 (balanced) serial interfaces. One unit connects 4 serial devices
to a GPIB bus.
- High speed, 115.2 K baud channels include 60 K byte buffers.
Large data buffers in each channel.
- > 600 K byte/sec. GPIB data transfer rate. Minimizes GPIB
Bus time.
- SCPI commands set and query non-volatile serial channel configurations.
Configure the unit without having to remove the cover or remember cryptic
commands.
- LCD display shows Bus activity, buffer status, serial interface
signals and channel settings. Built in status display and diagnostic aid.
- Includes a menu-driven PC compatible configuration program.
Steps user through configu-ration choices.
- New 1 U high, metal case has CE approval Smaller size with
full EMI/RFI protection.

4899
GPIB to Modbus Interface
The Model 4899 GPIB<->Modbus Interface
is an IEEE 488.2/GPIB to Serial Interface that adapts Modbus slave devices
to the GPIB or HP-IB bus.The 4899 lets the user send simple read-write messages
on the GPIB bus to control and query slave Modbus devices. The 4899 does
all of the Modbus message formatting and error checking. The 4899 has both
RS-232 and RS-485 interfaces so it can be connected directly to a single
Modbus slave device or it can be connected to multiple Modbus devices via
an RS-485 network. |
 |
| |
| |
| |
Features:
- Converts simple ASCII commands into Modbus RTU messages. Relieves
user from having to format messages and do CRC checking.
- Provides both single ended RS-232 and balanced RS-422/RS-485
serial signals. Connects to single and multiple Modbus devices.
- GPIB Interface is IEEE-488.2 Compliant. Meets latest GPIB Standards.
- GPIB Address can set by SCPI commands Avoids having to open
the case to set the address.
- Saves GPIB and serial interface settings in an internal E 2
ROM. Configure unit without having to remove the cover.
- Front panel LEDs show address and status. Visual indication
of operation and test status
- Small 1 U high, metal box design has CE approval Small size
with full EMI/RFI protection.

4860/62
Bus Isolator and Expander
The 4860 GPIB<->GPIB Isolated Bus Expander solves four of the most
common problems encountered in GPIB systems, device loading, signal noise,
ground loops and cable distance.
The 4860 provides this capability in ICS's small Minibox size case. The
Model 4862 is a lower cost Bus Expander for applications that do not require
electrical isolation. |
 |
Features:
- Provides over 2000 V isolation between instruments and
bus controller.
Eliminates ground loops and their associated data errors.
- Allows more than 14 devices on the GPIB bus.
Overcomes the bus drive limitation.

4842 Bus Switch
The Model 4842 GPIB Bus Switch is a GPIB controlled switch that enables several
GPIB Controllers to share one or more GPIB device(s)or lets a single GPIB Controller
operate multiple Bus systems. The 4842 is basically a GPIB controlled A-B-C switch
for the GPIB bus. When used as a Bus Switch, the 4842 lets a GPIB controller connected
to the common port select and control devices attached to the numbered ports. When
used as a Multiplexer, the 4842 lets Bus controllers connected to the numbered
ports share the common bus and any devices attached to it.

4886B-H Long Distance Bus Extender
The 4886B Bus Extenders allow you to establish an IEEE 488
Bus at the site of your test and measurement application wherever it may be
located - whether in another room, at remote test site or around the world.
The 4886B uses twisted shielded pair cable or external modems and the direct
dial telephone network to extend the bus to the remote location. The 4886B supports
both point-to-point and multiple sites with hardwired cables and external modems.
Communication between the sites is serial with the 4886B providing RS-232 and
RS-449 (RS-422) compatible interfaces. ICS's proprietary error-detection and
correction firmware provides error free data transmission over systems with
BER rates as low as 1 part in 104.
- Supports point to point or multi-drop site systems
- Automatic Error Detection / Correction algoritm to maximize
data transmission rate and secure valid data
- Transparent to existing software - requires only minimal program

4889 A/B/L Hi-speed Long Distance
Bus Extender
ICS's Model 4889 Series Bus Extenders dramatically improve IEEE 488 bus use
by pro-viding GPIB bus extension up to 25 km at data rates of 300 Kbytes per
second. Through the use of ICS's patented protocol, the 4889's bus transfer
rate remains unchanged as the bus extension distance increases - even for distances
out to 25 km. This enables long distance, high speed data transfer from computer-to-computer
or to remote devices over the GPIB bus.
